A Global Worldview

Humanism is a recognised global worldview with modern humanist organisations in more than 75 countries.

Companioning program

Our secular pastoral care volunteers deliver more than 114 hours of community companioning every quarter.

The Humanist Society brings people together to build community and do good, without religion. We are creating a meaningful alternative to the role churches have traditionally played in community life, showing that atheists, agnostics and people who are spiritual but not religious can find connection, support one another and make a positive difference in the world.

Our main charitable program is secular pastoral care, training volunteers to provide compassionate human connection for people experiencing loneliness, isolation and who are experiencing various life challenges. We also campaign on various secular issues and support better choices and care at the end of life – putting humanist values into practice where they matter.

We are currently training humanist companioning volunteers to provide social support in-person, online or via phone.
