Candice Mulcahy

Funeral Director and Celebrant

Candice Mulcahy supports families to create funeral ceremonies that feel personal, thoughtful, and grounded in genuine care. She understands that organising a farewell often happens during a time of emotional strain, so her approach is gentle, unhurried, and centred on where people feel most at ease. Meetings can take place in the home or another comfortable setting, allowing conversations to unfold naturally and without pressure.

By taking the time to listen to stories, memories, and reflections, Candice helps families shape a ceremony that truly reflects the life and values of the person who has died. Her work is guided by empathy, clarity, and careful attention to detail, ensuring that each service feels honest rather than formulaic. Families are supported through decisions at their own pace, with clear guidance and respect for what matters most to them.

Candice works in partnership with Picaluna Beautiful Funerals, a values-driven organisation committed to more compassionate and affordable funeral options. Picaluna manages the practical and logistical aspects of the funeral, including transfers, paperwork, mortuary care, suppliers, and invoicing. This partnership allows Candice to focus fully on crafting and delivering a meaningful ceremony, while also aligning with Picaluna’s commitment to community benefit, including their practice of donating a portion of profits to selected charities.

The Humanist Society is part of a national and international movement which helps people lead ethical and fulfilled lives free from religion.

We meet and work on stolen lands of the Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people and respect their sovereignty of those lands which was never ceded. We pay respect to Elders, past and present, and acknowledge the pivotal role that Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people continue to play within the Australian community.
