Nicole Grundy

Authentic farewell ceremonies

Nicole Grundy creates genuine, personalised funeral services, memorials, awakes and home funerals that reflect the individuality of the person being honoured. She is committed to having real, open conversations about life, death, and what truly matters, helping families feel supported, heard, and confident throughout the process.

With over six years’ experience as a celebrant, Nicole brings a calm, compassionate presence to ceremonies that may include tears, laughter, stories, silence, and reflection. She allows families to lead the way in how they grieve and remember, gently guiding the structure and storytelling so the farewell feels authentic, meaningful, and unforced. Her approach balances respect for tradition with a willingness to thoughtfully reimagine it.

Nicole believes strongly in choice, transparency, and individuality. She works closely with families to craft ceremony wording, organise readers and tributes, and provide confident, creative delivery on the day. As an End of Life Doula, she also offers dying, death, and bereavement consultancy, supporting people who want clarity, connection, and care at every stage, including those planning their own farewell.

The Humanist Society is part of a national and international movement which helps people lead ethical and fulfilled lives free from religion.

We meet and work on stolen lands of the Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people and respect their sovereignty of those lands which was never ceded. We pay respect to Elders, past and present, and acknowledge the pivotal role that Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people continue to play within the Australian community.
